On this day in 2023, Espérance Sportive de Tunis won the Tunisian Handball Cup by defeating Makarem Mahdia 35-22 in the final. This cup is the 29th in Espérance’s history, their third consecutive title, and their 21st double (league and cup).
On this day in 2014, Club Africain faced Espérance in a decisive match for the title. The first half ended with a score of 10 to 10. In the second half, we made the difference and won the match 23 to 21, thus securing our 29th title.
On this day in 2016, we triumphed over Egypt's Zamalek in the Moroccan town of El Aayoune, with a score of 33-32 after extra time. This was our second African Supercup trophy, following the one we won in 2014.
On this day, May 7, 1961, Espérance Sportive de Tunis won a crushing 6-0 victory over Club Bizertin. Chadhli Al-Awaini scored five of the six goals, becoming only the second Esperance player to score five goals in a single match, after Abdelmajid Telmissani in February.
