Since its foundation in 1968 by former international referee Mr. Hassan El Houki and under the supervision of coach Abdallah Jouini, the boxing section of Espérance Sportive de Tunis has, over the years, stood as a proud representative of Tunisian sports on international, global, and African stages. The club’s boxers have consistently showcased excellence in the noble art of boxing, striking fear into their opponents.

Among the notable names :

Equally deserving of recognition are : Khamis Refai, Lotfi Belkhir, and Abderraouf Jerbi — all multiple medalists at international, Mediterranean, African, and Arab competitions.

We must also honor the achievements and bouts of : Najib Essaddam, Abdessattar Bahri, Adel Khayari, Zied Sassi, Nofal Ben Rabah, Sami Khalifi, Mohamed Ali Sassi, Mohamed Ali Ben Naceur, Habib Ben Gacem, Yahya Mekshri, Bouyehi Mtira, and Atfa Ammara.

This success would not have been possible without the leadership of committed officials such as: Hassan El Houki, Hammadi Trabelsi, Hedi Mhirsi, Mohamed Ben Zekour, Farid Elaimi, and Khalifa Ben Naceur — all of whom played a key role in mentoring and supporting the athletes.

With 20 championship titles and 15 national cups to its name, the boxing section of Espérance has proudly represented the national flag in numerous international, global, African, Mediterranean, and Arab tournaments.

Despite facing many challenges, the section remains loyal to its core values: mentoring youth and upholding the human and sporting principles championed by club president Mr. Hamdi Meddeb — a faithful supporter, always striving for excellence, determined to honor the club’s star and crescent, and working closely with section president Mr. Khalifa Ben Naceur to ensure its continued success.
