Wrestling
The year 1968 was an important milestone in the great history of the Espérance Sportive de Tunis team, as it witnessed the establishment of the wrestling, boxing, and judo branches. At that time, the main goal was to train the young enthusiasts of this prestigious club, and no one could have imagined that the beginnings of champions like Ali Gharbi and Habib Chaouachi with the two managers Mohsen Anouen and Hedi Thouer as wrestling coaches would bring such great success.
The wrestling branch managed to secure more than 60 doubles in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling in the senior category, along with many titles in the junior categories.
Moreover, the wrestling branch of Espérance Sportive de Tunis played a significant role in shining a light on Tunisia and raising its flag high in international and national arenas, as Espérance champions dominated the African, Arab, Mediterranean, and Maghreb championships. This success was thanks to the excellent management of the branch presidents who took turns leading the wrestling section, including Mr. Ahmed Nashi,Hedi Mhirsi, Hamadi Boubaker, Farouk Gharbi, Iskandar Hashisha, and currently the champion Khalifa Ben Nasr, who continues this legacy.
