The Judo branch of Espérance Sportive de Tunis was established in September 1969 under the supervision of the champions Hedi Mhirsi and Ali Sommer. The team was coached by the champion Mohsen Mahjoub and the esteemed Abdellatif Harakati, who was among the first coaches of this branch.
Over the years, the Judo branch has been led by the following presidents :

- The African and Mediterranean champion and world bronze medalist Faisal Jabbalah

Espérance has won many titles on the national, African, Mediterranean, and international levels, in addition to numerous individual titles and more than 30 Tunisian team championship cups.
Espérance Sportive de Tunis confirms its high status and ongoing effective contribution to raising the national flag high, as well as its continuous training of youth, thanks to the skillful leadership of the branch president Mr. Khalifa Ben Nasr, who continues to lead the three branches despite many obstacles, thanks to the continuous and unlimited support from the club president Mr. Hamdi Mouadheb, who is, as always, eager to win more titles in all branches.
